Sweet Sampaguita

Friday, August 31st, 2007

Sweet SampaguitaTiny, white sweet scented flower
oval petals of love’s own stole
Your fragrance a demure shower
of the purity of one’s soul

Quite unassuming dark green leaves
covers your maze of brown-green limbs
Your sturdy sprouting base that weaves
a magic spell that never dims

So pure and sweet sampaguita
rise now that the dark night has come
Perfume the air incognita
and chase away all grief and glum
