Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies
Friday, June 1st, 2007
Without eggs or wheat, I shudder
to think what the outcome will be
but I had no choice, so a new recipe
and a list, I proceeded to follow
Still, that adventurous spirit in me
could not resist adding a few things
spices like cloves, a touch of ginger
and a hint of savory nutmeg to boot
Soon the aroma filling the kitchen
made the kids come ask: “What’s cooking?”
And I tried hard to keep from grinning
as I took a peek at the first batch
Dropped by teaspoonfuls, on a sheet
baked, they looked like Chernobyl cookies
but they smelled divine and tasted awesome
yummy gluten and egg free treat, at last!

this poem’s message tries to tell me that we should not be afraid of doing or trying new things as long as the general outcome of our actions will benefit the many and not just the few.
