If Words were A Kind Of Drink
Tuesday, June 19th, 2007
“PAIN” would be a gulp of coffee
drank straight from the pot
scalding hot it burns the throat
numbing the tissues of the tongue
everything tastes like cardboard
“LAUGHTER” would be champagne
as it tickles the nose and palate
its bubbles sigh of gentle warmth
soothing to the frazzled nerves
giggles escape in between hiccups
“ILLUSION” would be a softdrink
as it sucks you into the can
the fizz helps you to forget
quenching the thirst for a time
bulges form around the waistline
“PEACE” then would be water
as it pampers without pretense
it draws the grit and grime away
cleansing the body of impurities
a reality dose, renewing the soul
