Gather up the stars

Gather up the stars

ever changing in the dark of night
and dress the skies in ancient art
to shine on down and touch the seas
with its shimmering wondrous light

then, skim the surface like pebbles
and blanket the heavens in cold fire
to stir a brew of nonsensical desires
woven by frail shadows cast from afar
