Come!

come! You hope for a new tomorrow
when today, is almost over
when darkness begins to cover
all of beauty, draped in sorrow

You yearn for a new beginning
when a story, is at its end
when misery becomes a friend
torment roosts, in anguish winning

You wish, for moments, to linger
when in a wink, they are all gone
when in the seconds before dawn
shadows flit, past moonlight’s finger

Still, even in all twilight’s glum
when hopes and wishes are now past
and all your heart yearns for at last
is rest: God waits with love, so come!

In God’s cradle

In God’s cradle

If I dawdle and get lost
in the madness of this world
Rock me in your cradle
of love and peace dear Lord

When I stumble and fall
help me stand, merciful Lord
Rock me in your cradle
comfort me with your Word

Remind me of my blessings
as I live my life each day
Rock me in your cradle
of faith and hope today

And when my time is up
may I have done my very best
Rock me in your cradle
in Your bosom, may I then rest

Am I content?

Am I content?What a question to ask one’s self
when in a world of wants, one dwells
and credit cards are used like spells
to get a “must have” for that shelf.

Does it really matter you ask?
to be content with what you have…
to feel a joy nothing can halve…
It does, if in truth one is to bask.

For contentment is not a prize
to be sought or bought with money.
It is priceless, sweet as honey
found in Christ, by all who are wise.

While money is just uncertain
a supply, you can run short of
God’s promises, mercy and love
are limitless, always certain.

So if one asks with true intent
I pray that the answer would be
a joyful “Yes!” for you and me.
In God’s great love – I am content!

Of hands raised in praise

Of hands raised in praiseWhat lurks behind a heart confused, withdrawn?
Questions unanswered ticking with the clock
struggling to see the light before the dawn
groping in the dark, trying to unlock

this citadel now torturing the flock
man-made limitations written in stone
hiding praises, in hearts and souls to block
as sentimentalism, not to be shown

even as dictated by worship’s tone
offered in gratefulness to God above
while in emotionalism maybe prone
by grace honoring He that came in love

To hide one’s light is far more of a lie
than these hands raised in praise of God on high

Musings

MusingsWhat is faith,
if your hands are tied?
Where is hope,
when dreams have died?
Why live the truth,
when lies seem to prosper?
Who do you trust,
as hearts grow colder?

I say, faith is free -
not bought, never in chains.
Hope is eternal –
in souls, where love remains.
In truth, is life,
and one’s own peace of mind.
Trust in God –
For He is just and kind!

It is raining

It is raining

It rained tears of joy in my heart
when I read of the Great I Am
How God gave up His son, the Lamb
who came without sin from the start

It rained hope and faith in my soul
as I recalled the sacrifice
How on the third day, He did rise
made complete, with the Father whole

It rained tranquil peace in my life
For God’s promise: life eternal
To unbelievers: life infernal
sealed in Christ’s blood, by mercy rife

So it is by God’s love, never waning
that in the Potter’s hand, I am clay
Every prayer and in every day
I thank God for His grace: it is raining

On the road to Damascus

On the road to Damascus

A heart filled with hatred
fear and anger dwelling within
saw a light from heaven flash
so to the ground fell prostrate.
Heard a voice aloud asking:
“Why do you persecute Me so?”
Then opening up his eyes
to a vision of total darkness
was blinded for three days
that his spirit may see.
So he may to know the wonder
of He that came in love…
Jesus, who died on the cross
and on the third day rose again.
On the road to Damascus
a hardened heart was touched
to be filled with the Word
and from then on speak
for the glory of the Lord.

On the cross

on the cross

…where the Prince of glory died
in deep sorrow and love flowed
with water and blood, His load
our sins, with Him crucified

…where our debts were paid in full
a day of wonder, recall
how the heavens darkened, all
in sadness, mourning death’s pull

…where our light and hope was nailed
put to the test, perfected
in glory, resurrected
God’s great love for us unveiled

…where a sacrifice unique
remain still, for us to heed
a call to witness, to feed
with the Word, to hearts then speak

…where we must come, rejoicing
in the beauty of God’s gift
The Lord’s name, in praises lift
His wisdom, loudly voicing

Be Quiet

Be Quiet

When there are today
no words left to say
When the ink has dried
and the pen has died
just be quiet.

When you are furious
and all seem serious
when things go crazy
and your vision is hazy
just be quiet.

When a friend is lost
and in sin is tossed
when your heart aches
with your mistakes
just be quiet…

Q-uestion your motives
U-nmask your many faces
I-nvoke the Lord’s help in prayer
E-ntrust your worries to God
T-rust in His love, mercy and grace

And, be QUIET.
