May your concerns be few and your laughter be gay.
May your friends be many and all of them true.
May your dreams be within reach, may they all come true.

As you live your life in God’s light and guidance;
May your faith grow more and be not left to chance.
As you ponder on things and make your choices;
May they all be blessed and lead to joyful dances.

You are special, unique and a creation of value.
You have been tried and are being tested it’s true.
Now is the time to be steadfast: in God, hang on.
For trials are just diversions, you already have won!

Although this was written for a new friend, it hit me that this could also pertain to one’s spiritual rebirth.  So, Happy birthday!
A special note of thanks to the person who inspired me to write this one.  Again, thank you and may God’s peace be with you.

Leaves murmuring pleas none too softly
caressed to a halt by the gentle breeze.
On the pavement, moonlit shadows play
as nature’s own quiet stillness, cease.

Night flowers, their fragrance boldly share
in the air, a great sense of anticipation.
Earthy smell of mulch and fallen leaves
are all a part, a must, to this celebration.

Summer nights go on it seems forever
to the youth of yesterday holding on.
A never ending cycle, spinning round
again it disappears, in the light of dawn.

Old man Winter’s come to play
dressing up the yards snow white
draping icicles on trees
and hanging them on the eaves

clad in snowflakes and hail
and a hat of sleet and rain
he’s cooked up a chilly blast
just to warm up for the game

with his schematics laid out
right before our very eyes
he nods his plain approval
and proceeds to chill the air

he then awaits with a grin
cheeks rosy red in color
for Lady Spring to bounce back
and join the seasons in play
