About

This site is for those who are willing to see and experience through poetry and a bit of creative writing: beauty in wisdom, strength in truth, God’s amazing grace, love, hope and faith.

In here, you will find poems, cooking/baking experiments and writings by Yldara, her friends and guest writers. It is all about their ideas, their faith, thoughts, experiences and those concepts you may want to or can throw at them. Admittedly, some of them will be corny or at times silly but as they say : c’est la vie (that’s life). Life is at times corny or silly; does not make much sense; other times too serious. It can also be full of challenges and a good source of entertainment.

Yldara by the way, is the nom de plume (pen name/alias) of aspiring poet Maria Quintos-Stanphill. She’s a friend, spouse, daughter, sister, niece and mom to three, who can cook, likes to think and share her thoughts. She was a mail order bride*, who grew up in a war zone, amid bomb threats, bullets flying in the air and poverty. She believes that it was through God’s grace and mercy that she and her family were spared from death during those years of conflict.

If you think you are up to the challenge, or just plain curious as to what is in this site, then get going and browse through the list and categories. If there is a topic, you want Yldara to write about, just use the “contact me” page.

It is hoped that you will be blessed or at the least be made to reflect by the writings, experiments and poetry that is contained in these pages.

Do not forget to leave comments, all input within reason, is appreciated. In other words, constructive criticism is encouraged but derogatory remarks, defamation of character, obscene language and the like will not be tolerated and will be deleted.

Thanks for dropping by and hope you enjoy what this site has to offer.

Yldara

* it’s a long story. If you really want to know, just ask…
