in varied hues
dress the trees

leaves turning
red on maple
green no more

 wild dahlias
and purple velvet
swaths of heaven

under walnut
and maple trees

I sit in comfort on a cloud
of soft pillows, a glass in hand
as butterflies, hover and crowd
over some flowers on a stand:
daffodils and yellow roses -
just above where my pup dozes.

They flutter and dance in the breeze
with such  a show of playful glee
along with busy, buzzing bees:
to me, a jolly company;
flitting in and out while I sit
musing, dreaming, as I see fit.

Lost in a thought, never alone,
locked in the moment’s warm embrace,
caressed by the wind’s gentle moan -
contentment written on my face.
I bask in such joy as it streams
in me, here in my porch of dreams

Wild torrents tried to rush
into my solemn little world
Storms in their intense fury
threatened to engulf my soul

Sad fate kept me on guard
as I moved to tread on life
Passion gripped my shoulders
but I managed to be free

Quietly I struggled onward
fighting back wild emotions
Until they all lay panting
at the foot of my innocence

Pain. Sadness. Anger. Madness.
Pure emotions that cannot be masked.
Who? What? When? Why? How?
Mere questions that need to be asked.

Yesterday, brought forth confusion,
leaving behind a trail of emptiness;
Turning your world upside down,
just void of all hope and happiness.

But, today is another day,
and here is a good place to start
When nothing makes any sense,
pray and put a smile in your heart.

For tomorrow brings good cheer,
and a brand new hope of joy to you;
That, there’ll be no more pain,
as you find love: real and true.

is now a food for thought.
When one, in quiet reflection,
