To a worshipful heart
Tuesday, June 12th, 2007
freedom of spirit, expression of souls
in a song, in prayers, hands uplifted
reaching out to touch, reach heavenly goals
and so speak to hearts by faith convicted
while a wall to climb, sorrow afflicted
these limitations man has set, enforced
thrown in confusion, gravely predicted
set in tradition, grandly endorsed
bereft of God’s calling, by action forced
subduing, setting rules to abide by
belying, denying, from truth divorced
demanding one’s all yet from nothing cry
but still the Holy Spirit moves, relates
to a worshipful heart God’s grace awaits

Memories
Tuesday, June 12th, 2007
Time seems to pass unnoticed,
breaking every second into pieces.
Hidden treasures can’t be cherished
in deep slumber of memories.
Gone are the days of happiness,
moments of laughter and the rest
Even tears of pearls, I guess,
could do nothing but resist.
The world is full of vain memories
Come! Ponder! And think of this.
Cheer up! And never be helpless,
Smile and pray in times of crises.

Petals of Mercy
Monday, June 11th, 2007
Blooming for a tired and weary soul
silken touched, so heavenly whole
Promise brimmed grace, floating in praise
reaching out, extended, ablaze
Draped in heartsease, true repentance
stripping souls naked. A sentence
announced in glory, full of hope
Love’s utter cry, a prayer’s rope
Redeeming faith, of heaven’s light
to behold and feel such a sight
Red petals of mercy Divine
Shed. Given for lives: yours and mine

A squirrel’s lesson
Monday, June 11th, 2007
I saw a squirrel
high up a tree
its beady brown eyes
staring back at me
Nose a-twitching
this way and that
Sniffing at something
who knows, at what?
A nut sat cradled
held in its clutches
Soon to disappear
in just a few munches
I guess it is silly
watching nuts get notched
when I have to fix,
this dinner I botched
Why do I wonder,
and why do I ask?
Must I really ponder
such a disagreeable task?
Sometimes I think
as a squirrel I would be
better munching a nut
than being just me
Then again I wonder,
would I be better off
If a squirrel I became
my humanity to doff?
It would then be easy
for some man in hunger
to shoot and cook me
I would think in anger
So I best be content
to be his wife as I am
and fix him his dinner
even if it’s just Spam!

Author’s Comments:
Sometimes mundane things keep us off our focus and takes the joy out of life–but, when when we keep things in perspective, we discover humor in the situation and/or find a very valuable lesson, or two.

Come!
Sunday, June 10th, 2007
You hope for a new tomorrow
when today, is almost over
when darkness begins to cover
all of beauty, draped in sorrow
You yearn for a new beginning
when a story, is at its end
when misery becomes a friend
torment roosts, in anguish winning
You wish, for moments, to linger
when in a wink, they are all gone
when in the seconds before dawn
shadows flit, past moonlight’s finger
Still, even in all twilight’s glum
when hopes and wishes are now past
and all your heart yearns for at last
is rest: God waits with love, so come!

Dependence
Sunday, June 10th, 2007
So many minds
you have conquered
Too many souls
you have battered
A great many tears
flowed for your sake
Hundreds of lives
you have made worthless

In God’s cradle
Sunday, June 10th, 2007
If I dawdle and get lost
in the madness of this world
Rock me in your cradle
of love and peace dear Lord
When I stumble and fall
help me stand, merciful Lord
Rock me in your cradle
comfort me with your Word
Remind me of my blessings
as I live my life each day
Rock me in your cradle
of faith and hope today
And when my time is up
may I have done my very best
Rock me in your cradle
in Your bosom, may I then rest

A Biker’s dream
Saturday, June 9th, 2007
rolling hills, unending plains
curves and bends that never end
No deers or moose on the terrains
rubber to burn and miles to spend

Gather up the stars
Saturday, June 9th, 2007
ever changing in the dark of night
and dress the skies in ancient art
to shine on down and touch the seas
with its shimmering wondrous light
then, skim the surface like pebbles
and blanket the heavens in cold fire
to stir a brew of nonsensical desires
woven by frail shadows cast from afar
