Storm
Wednesday, June 20th, 2007
All the wreckage, horror and pain
twisted, dark abyss of anger
Fear’s orbit, a vicious trigger
cradle of ruins, death’s domain
Unpredictable, expected
challenge of nature and of God
Molding, mind-bending, Aaron’s rod
Echoes and cries, unexpected
A new hope and a beginning
dressed in sadness, cloaked in anguish
Trapped, in dark clouds of doubt, languish
with wings of freedom wait, spinning
Until it touches ground and soul
to make its mark be plainly known
Storm will come, its deafening drone
recall one God, all must extol

If Words were A Kind Of Drink
Tuesday, June 19th, 2007
“PAIN” would be a gulp of coffee
drank straight from the pot
scalding hot it burns the throat
numbing the tissues of the tongue
everything tastes like cardboard
“LAUGHTER” would be champagne
as it tickles the nose and palate
its bubbles sigh of gentle warmth
soothing to the frazzled nerves
giggles escape in between hiccups
“ILLUSION” would be a softdrink
as it sucks you into the can
the fizz helps you to forget
quenching the thirst for a time
bulges form around the waistline
“PEACE” then would be water
as it pampers without pretense
it draws the grit and grime away
cleansing the body of impurities
a reality dose, renewing the soul

In retrospect
Monday, June 18th, 2007

Hide must I from the eyes
that sees through my naked soul?
Nothing harsher or colder
than the death I die each time.
Courage, courage calls me
as I listen my heartbeat stops.
Never more shall I hear
parting sighs of sad goodbyes.
Reality is fear in a haze
slowly crushing me in its grip.
I have lain in a tomb
without hope or light within.
Yet dare I gaze into the face
that holds me solely captive.
Probing, probing so deeply
cutting into my frail defences.
My senses are being awakened.
Memories pass adrift in slumber.
Until finally I arose
a phoenix from dying embers.
Free as a bird in joyful flight
soaring through the skies so vast.
Where dreams are mere illusions
but for gifts that sprang from love.

In the darkest of days
Sunday, June 17th, 2007
Shine a great light never fading
never waning, so persuading
Filled with love, enslaving sadness
in peace to yield with much gladness
Like a bright shining star of night
do not dim. Sparkle on. Delight
in eternal hope and faith, true
Arise, from the mire of sin’s brew
In your faith in God, be steadfast
Sorrows and pain in His hand cast
Rely on God’s love. In the days
of darkness, trust in Him always

In God We Trust
Saturday, June 16th, 2007
Trials come in numbers high
all to God, in prayers cry
Our souls, thirst and hunger
for God’s love full of wonder
In silence, deeply dwelling
our hopes in Christ so telling
His hand of grace, it reaches
love to our hearts, He teaches
By grace saved, made dauntless
we no longer live in darkness
So in songs, our voices raise
offering our thanks and praise
Until the day to His court
we come to rest and report
Our day to day we must entrust
to God who is merciful and just

Words of Art
Friday, June 15th, 2007
Lines.
Meter.
A sonnet
or, a short verse.
Quite a feat, a task
is to master the art.
A true calling. A vision.
The mind’s ore, and a soul’s treasure.
Colorful words that paint a picture
is poetry to one who dares write it.

One gloomy day
Thursday, June 14th, 2007
I called on God one gloomy day
and He had a whole lot to say.
First, He asked why I was cold
He knew, even before I told.
I said ” Lord, I am quite lost,
have been foolish to my soul’s cost.”
He said “Child, you know I love you
and will forgive if asked to.”
In complete shame I bowed my head
and in repentance, tears I shed.
My God then, with words, comforted
my spirit, with love, exhorted.
In mercy He gently told me
How in sin I have been set free.
And now in good faith to promise
never be a doubting Thomas.
For His Son has paid the price
on the cross died, a sacrifice.
The sting of death He has erased.
Its powers foiled, of grace replaced.
With this wisdom, God said farewell
and told me in prayers to dwell.
So each day, I do what I must
my life, my soul, to God entrust.

A blessing received, to impart
to others who are in need, to share
Strength and bits of wisdom, to air
A hope and prayer from the heart
A task worth more than all the gold
worth more than this life can dream of
To serve under God, for His love
in grace and mercy, to enfold
In every breath of air to take
while minutes last and seconds wait
His gift proclaim a love so great
to stay, keep faith and hope awake

Too late!
Wednesday, June 13th, 2007
Someone called me up today
and stole my poor heart away
I prayed for it not to happen
but that Cupid, refused to listen
Try I did to dislike him enough
so in the end I could still laugh
Unfortunately all is now in vain
for my whole being feels the pain
My heart will never be whole
unless he returns what he stole
until then I will have to wait
and pray for kindness from fate

Why not today?
Tuesday, June 12th, 2007
Sleep in restful slumber,
cradled in God’s love and peace;
Awaken to the call of angels:
their songs, like a gentle kiss.
Walk with a steady step,
lead by HIS sure and steady hand.
And if on your own you fall,
He’ll be there to help you stand.
GOD never slumbers or sleeps;
HE knows your greatest fears.
And when you are too weary,
GOD is there to dry the tears.
Unburden yourself to GOD today,
and just feel HIS love unequaled.
Let GOD’s will then be done,
and truly live a life, unrivaled!
