A site created by design
that aims to lighten loads of old
with poems and writings plainly told
or a twist added in one line
A place to find one’s self perhaps
in gathered thoughts, prayers uttered
soul baring words, penned not muttered
across the net, no bars or caps
A dream, a wish set in motion
placed in a heart, to dwell not die
living, moving, with wings to fly
soaring beyond just a notion
Now a mission, to humbly share
maybe touch the hearts of many
with thoughts worth a pretty penny
but free to all who dares to care

Let go and let God
Thursday, May 31st, 2007
Life can be so full of troublesome instances wherein one can get so fed up with the day to day struggle. A person can always try to do his or her best and still end up wanting.
Life happens. Whether it is your hair acting up or it’s your child ruining your favorite outfit then proceeding to shave her brother’s hair off; or yourself burning the food by accident because the baby needed a diaper change; or you can’t get a job because you are not qualified enough or over qualified for the position; or you cannot sell enough of something to make ends meet.
Whether you have in-laws that meddle; or in-laws that don’t care at all; or your boss thinks he or she owns you; or you are always misunderstood; or you don’t ever have enough time to do what needs to be done; or you are in a relationship that is ruining your life and haven’t the strength or means to get out; or you just feel alone and insignificant–LIFE still goes on.
There are things beyond our control. Hard to believe and accept specially for those who are like myself then (too opinionated, do it my way or the highway type). But, it is true. It is only when one lets go and submits one’s self to God that things tend to happen for the better. Every load seems lighter; burdens seem to disappear; you and your whole persona is transformed when you let God run your life.
So why not submit your will to God. Let go and Let God’s will be done.

As dawn breaks…
Thursday, May 31st, 2007
A shimmer turns into a glitter
bursts into a red orange light
Pink mimosas unfurl as if on cue
with their own style and grace
Squirrels with their own young
uncurl from sleep in a wink
A rustle and a stir somewhere
and then a new day begins…

Myths and legends
wrapped into one
Poetry and prose
all gloriously done
Gods and goddesses,
clothes billowing white
Temples and statues
a truly grand sight
Fame and fortune
behind a friendly face
Love and life
beyond time and space

A scent irresistible
Wednesday, May 30th, 2007
it reels me into its depths,
an enticing and mysterious abyss.
Dark yet pleasantly earthy
potent and so indulgently rich
its curious bittersweet fragrance
hints at a delectable flavor.
I am lost! A willing captive,
enamored with the sensuous aroma
of a heavenly chocolate cake.

Summer Nights
Wednesday, May 30th, 2007
Leaves murmuring pleas none too softly
caressed to a halt by the gentle breeze.
On the pavement, moonlit shadows play
as nature’s own quiet stillness, cease.
Night flowers, their fragrance boldly share
in the air, a great sense of anticipation.
Earthy smell of mulch and fallen leaves
are all a part, a must, to this celebration.
Summer nights go on it seems forever
to the youth of yesterday holding on.
A never ending cycle, spinning round
again it disappears, in the light of dawn.

This Woman
Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

I heard this woman
take deep breath and sigh
So I looked into her eyes
and asked her why?
She smiled at me and said
Her love is gone forever lost
Not in her heart
but in a way she dreaded most
I could truly feel
how deeply hurt she’d been
For her troubled eyes
held a certain look so keen
Only I do fear
she had tried to pretend
her heart is okay
and is now on the mend
Aloud she said -
She must cry out in the rain
So no one need find
any reason to complain
And though her nights
are sadly drawn and lonely
In the light of day
she makes believe she’s happy
I tried to reason out
and make her understand
She must not go on
and suffer so out of hand
But she seemed lost
in a world of her own
Adrift in memories
that refuses to leave her alone
Perhaps she is thinking
of glories and times past
Believing in her heart
It’s the only way she’d last
While each day she lives
waiting for more tomorrows
to lessen the pain
and hide all her sorrows.

On the road to Damascus
Wednesday, May 30th, 2007
A heart filled with hatred
fear and anger dwelling within
saw a light from heaven flash
so to the ground fell prostrate.
Heard a voice aloud asking:
“Why do you persecute Me so?”
Then opening up his eyes
to a vision of total darkness
was blinded for three days
that his spirit may see.
So he may to know the wonder
of He that came in love…
Jesus, who died on the cross
and on the third day rose again.
On the road to Damascus
a hardened heart was touched
to be filled with the Word
and from then on speak
for the glory of the Lord.

Tale of Three
Wednesday, May 30th, 2007
Aileen in her red hat and yellow hair
straddling men and horses for her fair share
looking for riches that may come her way
as she juggles three jobs from day to day
Sue Ellen who strips down at Crazy Rock
divorced, still sports a heart sans key and lock
hoping to one day dress again in white
and dreams of a future that shines so bright
While by the bay in a far away place
Luani breaks tradition’s tight embrace
She will not be swayed, she uses her mind
learning from the past time has left behind
Different tales, yet not one of surprise
By product of a society’s rise
and morality’s fall, come to a head?
An argument that won’t be put to bed.

In life
Wednesday, May 30th, 2007
To ask questions is only wise
To know life is never a curse
The path you now traverse
is but a road of truth and lies
To err is human nature
To forgive, a task, divine
The choice is yours and mine
no matter what our culture
To mourn each death is fine
To grieve a loss is part of life
The way is full of strife
that purifies by God’s design
To be able to hear and see
To wake up each day, a miracle
The truth is often satirical
as it holds wisdom’s only key
